January 25, 2024: Marcus, IA 51035 Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union Royals (Marcus, IA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Trinity Christian Tigers (Hull, IA), 47-42 in a league bout.
With the victory, Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union upgrades its record to 9-4 on the campaign. The Royals travel to West Sioux (Hawarden, IA) to play the Falcons in a War Eagle bout on Friday, January 26. The Falcons come into the bout with a record of 1-14. West Sioux lost 60-49 in their recent non-league bout against Alta-Aurelia (Alta, IA)
Next up, the Tigers play the George-Little Rock Mustangs (George, IA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 26. Trinity Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 4-11 season record. The Mustangs come into the bout with a 9-5 record after their 59-56 non-league loss to South O'Brien (Paullina, IA).
