In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Minden Whippets basketball team scored a close 51-46 triumph over the Broken Bow Indians.

The Whippets (8-9) will now prepare for their contest against Cozad (Cozad, NE). The Haymakers go into the non-league contest with a 17-2 record.

In their next game, the Indians confront the Lexington Minutemen (Lexington, NE) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, February 4. Broken Bow will attempt to better on its 5-12 season record. The Minutemen go into the contest with a 2-15 record after their 81-44 non-league loss to Aurora (Aurora, NE).
