In Thursday's non-league test, the Hickory Red Tornadoes (Hickory, NC) basketball squad trounced the visiting Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), by a score of 70-46.

Next, the Red Tornadoes encounter the St. Stephens Indians (Hickory, NC) in a 3A Western Foothills test, on Friday, January 31. Hickory will attempt to improve on its 10-4 season record. The Indians come into the test with a 7-12 record after their 67-63 league loss to North Iredell (Olin, NC).
