Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Franklin County Lions (Carnesville, GA) and the visiting Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes (Monroe, GA), saw Franklin County's basketball squad hold off Monroe Area by a count of 47-44.

With the victory, Franklin County upgrades its record to 8-14 on the campaign. The Lions host Oconee County (Watkinsville, GA) to play the Warriors in a AAA Region 8 challenge on Friday, February 3. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 7-14. Oconee County won 49-26 in their recent league challenge against Stephens County (Toccoa, GA)
