January 31, 2024: Morrison, IL 61270 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Newman Central Catholic Comets (Sterling, IL) and the host Morrison Mustangs (Morrison, IL), saw Newman Central Catholic's basketball squad hold off Morrison by a tally of 51-48.
With the victory, Newman Central Catholic improves its record to 12-14 on the campaign. The Comets travel to Princeton (Princeton, IL) to play the Tigers in a Three Rivers - East challenge on Thursday, February 1. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 16-7. Princeton lost 41-28 in their recent non-league challenge against Sherrard (Sherrard, IL)
Next up, the Mustangs play the Rockridge Rockets (Taylor Ridge, IL) in a Three Rivers - West challenge, on Thursday, February 1. Morrison will attempt to improve on its 17-12 season record. The Rockets come into the challenge with a 8-19 record after their 47-35 non-league win over Farmington (Farmington, IL).
