New Jersey High School Basketball - St. John-Vianney tops St. Rose
January 31, 2024: Belmar, NJ 07719 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the St. John-Vianney Lancers (Holmdel, NJ) and the host St. Rose Purple Roses (Belmar, NJ), saw St. John-Vianney's basketball squad knock off St. Rose by a count of 81-69.
With the victory, St. John-Vianney upgrades its record to 15-5 on the campaign. The Lancers travel to Mainland Regional (Linwood, NJ) to play the Mustangs in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 3. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a record of 20-0. Mainland Regional won 64-32 in their recent league challenge against Atlantic City (Atlantic City, NJ)
Next up, the Purple Roses play the Gill St. Bernard's Knights (Gladstone, NJ) in a non-league challenge, on Sunday, February 4. St. Rose will attempt to upgrade on its 15-6 season record. The Knights come into the challenge with a 16-2 record after their 66-36 league win over Ridge (Basking Ridge, NJ).
