Massachusetts High School Basketball - Wakefield Memorial holds off Melrose
February 1, 2022: Melrose, MA 02176 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Wakefield Memorial Warriors (Wakefield, MA) and the host Melrose Red Raiders (Melrose, MA), saw Wakefield Memorial's basketball squad hold off Melrose by a tally of 62-58.
With the victory, Wakefield Memorial improves its record to 8-6 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Stoneham (Stoneham, MA) to confront the Spartans in a Middlesex challenge on Friday, February 4. The Spartans come into the challenge with a record of 2-15. Stoneham lost 64-60 in their recent league challenge against Wilmington (Wilmington, MA)
Next up, the Red Raiders confront the Burlington Red Devils (Burlington, MA) in a Middlesex challenge, on Friday, February 4. Melrose will attempt to improve on its 7-9 season record. The Red Devils come into the challenge with a 12-4 record after their 74-59 league win over Watertown (Watertown, MA).
