Illinois High School Basketball - Elgin Academy knocked off by Latin
February 1, 2024: Chicago, IL 60610 The Latin Romans basketball team scored 67 points and held the visiting Elgin Academy Hilltoppers to 59 in the Romans league triumph on Thursday.
The Romans now sport a 14-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Ida Crown Jewish Academy for a non-league contest on Monday, February 5. Latin will battle a Aces team coming off a 38-31 league loss to Rochelle Zell Jewish (Deerfield, IL). The Aces record now stands at 11-4.
The Hilltoppers (11-13) will now prepare for their contest against North Shore Country Day (Winnetka, IL). The Raiders enter the Independent School contest with a 4-11 record. In their last contest, North Shore Country Day was defeated by Northridge (Niles, IL), 59-28, in a league contest.
