Washington, DC High School Basketball - St. Anselm's Abbey can't hold off Sandy Spring Friends
February 1, 2024: Washington, DC 20017 The Sandy Spring Friends Wildebeests basketball team scored 53 points and held the host St. Anselm's Abbey Panthers to 48 in the Wildebeests league triumph on Thursday.
The Wildebeests now sport a 16-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to St. Albans for a non-league contest on Saturday, February 3. Sandy Spring Friends will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 66-49 league loss to Georgetown Prep (North Bethesda, MD). The Bulldogs record now stands at 13-6.
The Panthers (4-16) will now prepare for their contest against Southern Maryland Christian Academy (White Plains, MD). The Mustangs enter the non-league contest with a 4-11 record. In their last contest, Southern Maryland Christian Academy was nudged by Takoma Academy (Takoma Park, MD), 90-75, in a league contest.
