The Union City Soaring Eagles basketball team scored 48 points and held the host Snyder Tigers to 35 in the Soaring Eagles league triumph on Thursday.

The Soaring Eagles now sport a 9-11 record. They put it on the line next when they host Piscataway for a non-league contest on Saturday, February 3. Union City will battle a Chiefs team coming off a 85-52 league win over J.P. Stevens (Edison, NJ). The Chiefs record now stands at 9-13.

The Tigers (4-15) will now prepare for their contest against Shabazz (Newark, NJ). The Bulldogs enter the non-league contest with a 10-9 record. In their last contest, Shabazz ran past Livingston (Livingston, NJ), 46-27, in a non-league contest.
