The Brentwood War Eagles basketball team scored 56 points and held the host Briarwood Academy Buccaneers to 50 in the War Eagles non-league triumph on Thursday.

The War Eagles now sport a 17-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Westminster Christian Academy for a GIAA AA Region 2 contest on Friday, February 2. Brentwood will battle a Lions team coming off a 36-32 league loss to Gatewood (Eatonton, GA). The Lions record now stands at 6-12.

The Buccaneers (17-3) will now prepare for their bout against Piedmont Academy (Monticello, GA). The Cougars come into the non-league bout with a 14-7 record. In their last bout, Piedmont Academy nipped Gatewood (Eatonton, GA), 62-42, in a league bout.
