Utah High School Basketball - Piute overwhelms Water Canyon
February 2, 2023: Junction, UT 84740 Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Piute Thunderbirds (Junction, UT) and the visiting Water Canyon Wildcats (Hildale, UT), saw Piute's basketball squad wallop Water Canyon by a count of 72-37.
With the victory, Piute upgrades its record to 14-4 on the campaign. The Thunderbirds host Wendover (Wendover, UT) to play the Wildcats in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 4. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a record of 13-4. Wendover won 90-43 in their recent league challenge against Telos (Orem, UT)
Next up, the Wildcats play the Milford Tigers (Milford, UT) in a 1A Region 20 challenge, on Tuesday, February 7. Water Canyon will attempt to upgrade on its 5-7 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 15-5 record after their 78-44 league loss to Panguitch (Panguitch, UT).
