The Katahdin Cougars (Sherman Station, ME) basketball crushed the visiting Ashland Hornets (Ashland, ME), 48-22 in Thursday's league test.

The Cougars (9-7) will now prepare for their test against Southern Aroostook (Dyer Brook, ME). The Warriors go into the D North test with a 13-3 record. In their last test, Southern Aroostook was trounced by Penobscot Valley (Howland, ME), 42-31, in a non-league test.
