Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Vega Longhorns (Vega, TX) and the visiting Bovina Mustangs (Bovina, TX), saw Vega's basketball squad hold off Bovina by a tally of 40-34.

With the victory, Vega improves its record to 14-18 on the campaign. The Longhorns travel to Farwell (Farwell, TX) to confront the Steers in a 2A Region I District 3 challenge on Tuesday, February 6. The Steers come into the challenge with a record of 27-3.
