Louisiana High School Basketball - St. Mary's Academy nips Newman
February 2, 2024: New Orleans, LA 70126 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the St. Mary's Academy Cougars (New Orleans, LA) and the visiting Newman Greenies (New Orleans, LA), saw St. Mary's Academy's basketball squad hold off Newman by a count of 44-42.
With the victory, St. Mary's Academy upgrades its record to 14-6 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Warren Easton (New Orleans, LA) to play the Fighting Eagles in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 6. The Fighting Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 13-12. Warren Easton won 50-42 in their recent non-league challenge against Hahnville (Boutte, LA)
Next up, the Greenies play the Cabrini Crescents (New Orleans, LA) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, February 5. Newman will attempt to upgrade on its 8-16 season record. The Crescents come into the challenge with a 7-14 record after their 47-24 non-league loss to Archbishop Chapelle (Metairie, LA).
