In Friday's league outing, the Scotland Fighting Scots (Laurinburg, NC) basketball squad edged the host Union Pines Vikings (Cameron, NC), by a count of 47-41.

The Fighting Scots (17-2) will now prepare for their outing against Pinecrest (Southern Pines, NC). The Patriots go into the 3A/4A Sandhills outing with a 6-12 record.

The Vikings now hold a 10-9 record. They play next when they travel to Richmond for a 3A/4A Sandhills outing on Tuesday, February 6. Union Pines will clash with a Raiders squad coming off a 73-12 league win over Hoke County (Raeford, NC). The Raiders record now stands at 17-4.
