In Friday's league outing, the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) basketball squad nipped the visiting Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC), by a margin of 49-42.

The Cougars (8-9) will now prepare for their outing against Watauga (Boone, NC). The Pioneers go into the outing with a 9-6 record. In their last outing, Watauga was tipped by South Caldwell (Hudson, NC), 61-46, in a non-league outing.
