North Carolina High School Basketball - Hobbton holds off Lakewood
February 3, 2023: Newton Grove, NC 28366 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Hobbton Wildcats (Newton Grove, NC) and the visiting Lakewood Leopards (Roseboro, NC), saw Hobbton's basketball squad hold off Lakewood by a tally of 51-47.
With the victory, Hobbton improves its record to 8-10 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Union (Rose Hill, NC) to confront the Spartans in a 1A Conference 10 challenge on Tuesday, February 7. The Spartans come into the challenge with a record of 0-19. Union lost 75-45 in their recent league challenge against North Duplin (Calypso, NC)
Next up, the Leopards confront the Clinton Dark Horses (Clinton, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, February 6. Lakewood will attempt to improve on its 7-12 season record. The Dark Horses come into the challenge with a 3-17 record after their 53-33 league loss to St. Pauls (St. Pauls, NC).
