West Mesa Mustangs (Albuquerque, NM) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Eldorado Golden Eagles (Albuquerque, NM), 72-66 in a league bout.

With the win, West Mesa upgrades its record to 13-6 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Manzano (Albuquerque, NM) to clash with the Monarchs in a non-league bout on Monday, February 5. The Monarchs go into the bout with a record of 5-14. Manzano lost 60-55 in their recent league bout against Albuquerque (Albuquerque, NM)

Next up, the Golden Eagles clash with the La Cueva Bears (Albuquerque, NM) in a 5A District 2 challenge, on Wednesday, February 7. Eldorado will attempt to improve on its 11-9 season record. The Bears come into the challenge with a 13-7 record after their 87-71 league win over Farmington (Farmington, NM).
