The Southwest EC Eagles (El Centro, CA) basketball edged the visiting Palo Verde Valley Yellow Jackets (Blythe, CA), 62-59 in Monday's non-league bout.

The Eagles now possess a 5-18 record. They play next when they host Holtville for a Desert bout on Thursday, February 6. Southwest EC will play a Vikings team coming off a 85-36 league loss to Brawley (Brawley, CA). The Vikings record now stands at 6-13.

With the loss, Palo Verde Valley falls to 9-14 on the campaign. The Yellow jackets travel to Brawley (Brawley, CA) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Thursday, February 6. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 18-8. Brawley won 85-36 in their recent league bout against Holtville (Holtville, CA)
