Amherst Broncos (Amherst, NE) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Mustangs (Sumner, NE), 54-40 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Amherst upgrades its record to 18-1 on the season. The Broncos travel to Elm Creek (Elm Creek, NE) to play the Buffaloes in a non-league bout on Friday, February 10. The Buffaloes go into the bout with a record of 17-3. Elm Creek lost 37-31 in their recent non-league bout against Ansley/Litchfield (Ansley, NE)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Twin Loup Wolves (Sargent, NE) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Sumner-Eddyville-Miller will attempt to upgrade on its 13-5 season record. The Wolves go into the bout with a 3-15 record after their 35-25 league loss to Chambers/Wheeler Central (Chambers, NE).
