Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Houston Hawks (Big Lake, AK) and the visiting Ninilchik Wolverines (Ninilchik, AK), saw Houston's basketball squad hold off Ninilchik by a tally of 63-59.

With the victory, Houston improves its record to 8-4 on the campaign. The Hawks travel to Redington (Wasilla, AK) to play the Huskies in a 3A Eastern challenge on Monday, February 6. The Huskies come into the challenge with a record of 0-11. Redington lost 52-41 in their recent non-league challenge against Buckland (Buckland, AK)
