Virginia High School Basketball - McLean bests Wakefield
February 4, 2025: McLean, VA 22101 The McLean Highlanders basketball team scored 53 points and limited the visiting Wakefield Warriors to 36 in the Highlanders league triumph on Tuesday.
The Highlanders now possess a 10-9 record. They play next when they travel to Yorktown for a District 2 game on Friday, February 7. McLean will play a Patriots team coming off a 72-59 league win over Langley (McLean, VA). The Patriots record now stands at 16-2.
With the loss, Wakefield falls to 9-8 on the campaign. The Warriors host Washington-Liberty (Arlington, VA) to play the Generals in a District 2 game on Friday, February 7. The Generals go into the game with a record of 6-14. Washington-Liberty lost 56-35 in their recent league game against George C. Marshall (Falls Church, VA)
