Kentucky High School Basketball - Wayne County thwarts Somerset Christian
February 4, 2025: Monticello, KY 42633 The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Wayne County Cardinals (Monticello, KY) and the visiting Somerset Christian Cougars (Somerset, KY), observed Wayne County's basketball team knock off Somerset Christian by a score of 76-61.
The Cardinals (8-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Southwestern (Somerset, KY). The Warriors come into the District 48 challenge with a 10-10 record. In their last challenge, Southwestern prevailed over Lincoln County (Stanford, KY), 64-57, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Cougars encounter the Clinton County Bulldogs (Albany, KY) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, February 6. Somerset Christian will attempt to improve on its 8-9 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 24-1 record after their 71-37 non-league win over Trinity (Whitesville, KY).
