Kentucky High School Basketball - Wayne County sneaks past Rockcastle County
January 14, 2025: Monticello, KY 42633 The Wayne County Cardinals (Monticello, KY) basketball edged the visiting Rockcastle County Rockets (Mt. Vernon, KY), 56-52 in Tuesday's non-league bout.
The Cardinals now possess a 5-4 record. They play next when they host McCreary Central for a District 48 bout on Friday, January 17. Wayne County will play a Raiders team coming off a 66-58 league loss to Somerset Christian (Somerset, KY). The Raiders record now stands at 9-5.
With the loss, Rockcastle County falls to 3-10 on the campaign. The Rockets travel to Casey County (Liberty, KY) to play the Rebels in a District 47 bout on Friday, January 17. The Rebels go into the bout with a record of 0-11. Casey County lost 63-26 in their recent league bout against Somerset (Somerset, KY)
