In Friday's league contest, the host Rockcastle County Rockets basketball team scored a close 59-54 triumph over the Somerset Briar Jumpers.

The Rockets (2-8) will now prepare for their contest against Lincoln County (Stanford, KY). The Patriots go into the non-league contest with a 7-4 record. In their last contest, Lincoln County was tipped by Larue County (Hodgenville, KY), 62-46, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Briar Jumpers confront the Danville Christian Academy Warriors (Danville, KY) in a non-league contest, on Monday, January 6. Somerset will attempt to better on its 6-5 season record. The Warriors go into the contest with a 8-2 record after their 61-46 league win over Danville (Danville, KY).
