Mars Fightin' Planets (Mars, PA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Plum Mustangs (Pittsburgh, PA), 56-27 in a league bout.

With the win, Mars upgrades its record to 9-1 on the season. The Fightin' Planets travel to Highlands (Natrona Heights, PA) to play the Golden Rams in a WPIAL 5A 1 bout on Tuesday, February 9. The Golden Rams go into the bout with a record of 8-1. Highlands won 75-29 in their recent non-league bout against Indiana (Indiana, PA)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Highlands Golden Rams (Natrona Heights, PA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 12. Plum will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record.
