Texas High School Basketball - Albany nips Anson
February 5, 2022: Albany, TX 76430 Albany Lions (Albany, TX) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Anson Tigers (Anson, TX), 42-40 in a league bout.
With the victory, Albany upgrades its record to 5-5 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Stamford (Stamford, TX) to play the Bulldogs in a 2A Region II District 10 bout on Tuesday, February 8. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 5-11. Stamford won 42-38 in their recent league game against Haskell (Haskell, TX)
With the defeat, Anson moves to 14-11 on the year. The Tigers host Hawley (Hawley, TX) to face the Bearcats in a 2A Region II District 10 game on Tuesday, February 8. The Bearcats enter the game with a record of 12-7. Hawley lost 67-64 in their recent league game against Cisco (Cisco, TX)
