The Merkel Badgers basketball team scored 47 points and held the visiting Anson Tigers to 34 in the Badgers non-league triumph on Monday.

The Badgers now sport a 2-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Eula for a non-league contest on Tuesday, November 23.

The Tigers (1-2) will now prepare for their contest against Winters (Winters, TX). The Blizzards enter the non-league contest with a 1-1 record. In their last contest, Winters ran past San Saba (San Saba, TX), 33-26, in a non-league contest.
