In Monday's non-league outing, the Halifax County Comets (South Boston, VA) basketball squad nipped the host Northern Durham Knights (Durham, NC), by a margin of 63-58.

The Comets (10-12) will now prepare for their outing against Magna Vista (Ridgeway, VA). The Warriors go into the Piedmont outing with a 6-15 record. In their last outing, Magna Vista was tipped by Martinsville (Martinsville, VA), 52-32, in a league outing.

The Knights now own a 9-11 record. They play next when they travel to Hillside for a 4A DAC outing on Tuesday, February 6. Northern Durham will encounter a Hornets squad coming off a 55-43 league loss to Riverside-Durham (Durham, NC). The Hornets record now stands at 13-6.
