North Carolina High School Basketball - Smoky Mountain ripped by Franklin
February 6, 2024: Sylva, NC 28779 The Franklin Panthers basketball team scored 82 points and held the host Smoky Mountain Mustangs to 60 in the Panthers league triumph on Tuesday.
The Panthers now sport a 14-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Swain County for a non-league contest on Wednesday, February 7. Franklin will battle a Maroon Devils team coming off a 77-52 league loss to Cherokee (Cherokee, NC). The Maroon Devils record now stands at 15-6.
The Mustangs (4-18) will now prepare for their contest against Tuscola (Waynesville, NC). The Mountaineers enter the 3A Mountain 7 contest with a 1-17 record. In their last contest, Tuscola was routed by Pisgah (Canton, NC), 76-63, in a league contest.
