In Tuesday's non-league outing, the Gretna Hawks (Gretna, VA) basketball squad beat the visiting Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA), by a count of 42-31.

The Hawks (10-3) will now prepare for their outing against Chatham (Chatham, VA). The Cavaliers go into the non-league outing with a 8-10 record. In their last outing, Chatham was topped by Dan River (Ringgold, VA), 50-43, in a non-league outing.

The Governors now hold a 10-8 record. They play next when they host Altavista for a non-league outing on Friday, February 9.
