The Mercer County Golden Eagles basketball team scored 51 points and held the host Galva Wildcats to 48 in the Golden Eagles league triumph on Monday.

The Golden Eagles now sport a 9-17 record. They put it on the line next when they host Annawan for a Lincoln Trail contest on Wednesday, February 9. Mercer County will battle a Braves team coming off a 69-53 league win over Princeville (Princeville, IL). The Braves record now stands at 18-10.

The Wildcats (11-18) will now prepare for their bout against Knoxville (Knoxville, IL). The Blue Bullets come into the Lincoln Trail bout with a 18-9 record. In their last bout, Knoxville was edged by Abingdon/Avon (Abingdon, IL), 47-39, in a league bout.
