West Virginia High School Basketball - Clay County toppled by Midland Trail
February 7, 2025: Hico, WV 25854 Midland Trail Patriots (Hico, WV) supporters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the visiting Clay County Panthers (Clay, WV), 53-44 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Midland Trail advances its record to 10-6 on the year. The Patriots host Summit Christian Academy (Princeton, WV) to face the Falcons in a non-league match on Monday, February 10. The Falcons enter the match with a record of 21-3. Summit Christian Academy won 59-41 in their recent league match against Cross Lanes Christian (Charleston, WV)
The Panthers now own a 6-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to South Harrison for a Little Kanawha - East match on Saturday, February 8. Clay County will face a Hawks squad coming off a 58-52 league win over Webster County (Upper Glade, WV). The Hawks record now stands at 6-6.
