North Carolina High School Basketball - New Hanover knocks off Laney

February 7, 2025: Wilmington, NC 28405

In Friday's league contest, the visiting New Hanover Wildcats basketball team scored a good 68-53 win over the Laney Buccaneers.

The Wildcats (19-2) will now prepare for their contest against Kinston (Kinston, NC). The Vikings come into the non-league contest with a 15-3 record. In their last contest, Kinston defeated South Lenoir (Deep Run, NC), 70-50, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Buccaneers meet the North Brunswick Scorpions (Leland, NC) in a 3A/4A Mideastern battle, on Tuesday, February 11. Laney will attempt to advance on its 13-7 season record. The Scorpions enter the battle with a 8-13 record after their 59-53 league loss to West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC).
