North Carolina High School Basketball - New Hanover sneaks past Hoggard

The New Hanover Wildcats (Wilmington, NC) basketball edged the visiting Hoggard Vikings (Wilmington, NC), 57-52 in Wednesday's league bout.

The Wildcats now possess a 18-2 record. They play next when they travel to Laney for a 3A/4A Mideastern bout on Friday, February 7. New Hanover will play a Buccaneers team coming off a 85-47 league win over Topsail (Hampstead, NC). The Buccaneers record now stands at 13-6.

With the loss, Hoggard falls to 17-3 on the campaign. The Vikings host Ashley (Wilmington, NC) to play the Screaming Eagle in a 3A/4A Mideastern bout on Friday, February 7. The Screaming Eagle go into the bout with a record of 9-12. Ashley won 62-61 in their recent league bout against North Brunswick (Leland, NC)
