Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Mt. Pleasant Cardinals (San Jose, CA) and the host Gilroy Mustangs (Gilroy, CA), saw Mt. Pleasant's basketball squad hold off Gilroy by a tally of 50-47.

With the victory, Mt. Pleasant improves its record to 9-6 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Yerba Buena (San Jose, CA) to confront the Aztec Warriors in a challenge on Friday, February 10. The Aztec Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 0-20. Yerba Buena lost 43-28 in their recent league challenge against Overfelt (San Jose, CA)
