Illinois High School Basketball - Southwestern tops Carlinville
February 9, 2024: Piasa, IL 62079 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL) and the visiting Carlinville Cavaliers (Carlinville, IL), saw Southwestern's basketball squad knock off Carlinville by a count of 50-37.
With the victory, Southwestern upgrades its record to 19-10 on the campaign. The Piasa Birds travel to Hillsboro (Hillsboro, IL) to play the Hiltoppers in a South Central challenge on Tuesday, February 13. The Hiltoppers come into the challenge with a record of 10-19. Hillsboro lost 56-53 in their recent league challenge against North Mac (Virden, IL)
Next up, the Cavaliers play the Routt Catholic Rockets (Jacksonville, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, February 12. Carlinville will attempt to upgrade on its 12-16 season record. The Rockets come into the challenge with a 18-10 record after their 48-40 non-league win over Auburn (Auburn, IL).
