February 9, 2024: Fort Wingate, NM 87316 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Zuni Thunderbirds (Zuni, NM) and the host Wingate Bears (Fort Wingate, NM), saw Zuni's basketball squad overcome Wingate by a tally of 66-46.
With the victory, Zuni improves its record to 13-8 on the campaign. The Thunderbirds host Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM) to confront the Eagles in a 3A District 1 challenge on Wednesday, February 14. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 13-8. Navajo Prep won 62-33 in their recent league challenge against Thoreau (Thoreau, NM)
Next up, the Bears confront the Crownpoint Eagles (Crownpoint, NM) in a 3A District 1 challenge, on Monday, February 12. Wingate will attempt to improve on its 7-14 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 6-13 record after their 73-54 league loss to Tohatchi (Tohatchi, NM).
