February 10, 2024: Capitan, NM 88316 Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the Capitan Tigers (Capitan, NM) and the visiting Lordsburg Mavericks (Lordsburg, NM), saw Capitan's basketball squad overcome Lordsburg by a tally of 49-37.
With the victory, Capitan improves its record to 8-14 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Mescalero Apache (Mescalero, NM) to confront the Chiefs in a 2A District 3 challenge on Thursday, February 15. The Chiefs come into the challenge with a record of 9-11. Mescalero Apache lost 58-40 in their recent league challenge against Tularosa (Tularosa, NM)
Next up, the Mavericks confront the Cloudcroft Bears (Cloudcroft, NM) in a 2A District 3 challenge, on Thursday, February 15. Lordsburg will attempt to improve on its 5-15 season record. The Bears come into the challenge with a 6-12 record after their 67-17 league loss to Tularosa (Tularosa, NM).
