In Tuesday's league contest, the visiting Asheboro Blue Comets basketball team scored a big 87-34 triumph over the Montgomery Central Timberwolves.

The Blue Comets (14-7) will now prepare for their contest against North Davidson (Lexington, NC). The Black Knights go into the 3A Mid-Piedmont contest with a 9-13 record. In their last contest, North Davidson was trounced by Ledford (Thomasville, NC), 74-65, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Timberwolves confront the Scotland Fighting Scots (Laurinburg, NC) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, February 13. Montgomery Central will attempt to better on its 0-21 season record. The Fighting Scots go into the contest with a 4-16 record after their 87-53 league loss to Lee County (Sanford, NC).
