North Carolina High School Basketball - Oak Grove triumphant over Montgomery Central

January 17, 2025: Troy, NC 27371

The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Oak Grove Grizzlies (Winston-Salem, NC) and the host Montgomery Central Timberwolves (Troy, NC), observed Oak Grove's basketball team overwhelm Montgomery Central by a margin of 85-40.

The Grizzlies (10-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Ledford (Thomasville, NC). The Panthers come into the 3A Mid-Piedmont challenge with a 13-1 record. In their last bout, Ledford crushed Asheboro (Asheboro, NC), 64-56, in a league bout.

With the loss, Montgomery Central falls to 0-14 on the campaign. The Timberwolves host Central Davidson (Lexington, NC) to play the Spartans in a 3A Mid-Piedmont bout on Tuesday, January 21. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 8-7. Central Davidson won 51-31 in their recent league bout against North Davidson (Lexington, NC)
