Missouri High School Basketball - Mt. Vernon can't get by Lamar
February 11, 2025: Mt. Vernon, MO 65712 Lamar Tigers (Lamar, MO) supporters left the game happy Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Mt. Vernon Mountaineers (Mt. Vernon, MO), 80-76 in a league match.
With the victory, Lamar advances its record to 7-6 on the year. The Tigers travel to Seneca (Seneca, MO) to meet the Indians in a Big 8 match on Thursday, February 13. The Indians enter the match with a record of 6-10. Seneca lost 76-35 in their recent non-league match against Blair Oaks (Jefferson City, MO)
The Mountaineers now own a 11-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Cassville for a Big 8 match on Friday, February 14. Mt. Vernon will meet a Wildcats squad coming off a 52-37 league loss to East Newton (Granby, MO). The Wildcats record now stands at 4-15.
