The Newton Braves basketball team scored 52 points and held the visiting Kittatinny Regional Cougars to 42 in the Braves non-league triumph on Monday.

The Braves now sport a 5-16 record. They put it on the line next when they host Kinnelon for a non-league contest on Tuesday, February 14. Newton will battle a Colts team coming off a 73-42 league loss to Pequannock (Pompton Plains, NJ). The Colts record now stands at 13-7.

The Cougars (6-12) will now prepare for their contest against Parsippany Hills (Parsippany, NJ). The Vikings enter the non-league contest with a 10-10 record. In their last contest, Parsippany Hills ran past Parsippany (Parsippany, NJ), 66-44, in a non-league contest.
