New Jersey High School Basketball - Newton can't hold off Wallkill Valley
February 7, 2023: Newton, NJ 07860 The Wallkill Valley Rangers basketball team scored 54 points and held the host Newton Braves to 49 in the Rangers league triumph on Tuesday.
The Rangers now sport a 9-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to High Point for a Northwest Jersey - Freedom contest on Thursday, February 9. Wallkill Valley will battle a Wildcats team coming off a 53-22 non-league win over Morris County Tech (Denville, NJ). The Wildcats record now stands at 9-10.
The Braves (4-15) will now prepare for their contest against Bard (New York, NY). The enter the non-league contest with a 10-8 record. In their last contest, Bard nudged Palisades Park (Palisades Park, NJ), 60-41, in a non-league contest.
