February 13, 2024: Iron River, MI 49935 The Johnston Speedboys basketball team (Bessemer, MI), was routed 93-41 in Tuesday's non-league battle with the host West Iron County Wykons (Iron River, MI)
The Wykons now sport a 9-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Calumet for a Western Peninsula battle on Thursday, February 15. West Iron County will battle a Copper Kings team coming off a 49-41 league loss to Houghton (Houghton, MI). The Copper Kings record now stands at 9-9.
The Speedboys (6-11) will now prepare for their battle against Wakefield (Wakefield, MI). The Cardinals come into the Copper Mountain battle with a 6-5 record. In their last battle, Wakefield trounced Ontonagon (Ontonagon, MI), 52-37, in a league battle.
