New Mexico High School Basketball - Capitan nips Mescalero Apache
February 13, 2025: Capitan, NM 88316 The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Capitan Tigers (Capitan, NM) and the visiting Mescalero Apache Chiefs (Mescalero, NM), observed Capitan's basketball team edge Mescalero Apache by a margin of 59-57.
The Tigers (3-20) will now prepare for their challenge against Mesilla Valley Christian School (Las Cruces, NM). The SonBlazers come into the 2A District 3 challenge with a 17-3 record. In their last challenge, Mesilla Valley Christian School edged Cloudcroft (Cloudcroft, NM), 49-43, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Chiefs battle the Lordsburg Mavericks (Lordsburg, NM) in a 2A District 3 challenge, on Saturday, February 15. Mescalero Apache will attempt to better on its 5-18 season record. The Mavericks come into the challenge with a 10-13 record after their 61-51 league win over Cloudcroft (Cloudcroft, NM).
