February 14, 2025: Mt. Zion, IL 62549 The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Mt. Zion Braves (Mt. Zion, IL) and the visiting Mattoon Greenwave (Mattoon, IL), observed Mt. Zion's basketball team overwhelm Mattoon by a margin of 77-39.
The Braves (20-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Decatur Eisenhower (Decatur, IL). The Panthers come into the non-league challenge with a 13-12 record. In their last challenge, Decatur Eisenhower trounced Centennial (Champaign, IL), 55-27, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Greenwave battle the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes (Teutopolis, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, February 18. Mattoon will attempt to better on its 8-20 season record. The Wooden Shoes come into the challenge with a 18-10 record after their 48-38 non-league loss to Triad (Troy, IL).
