West Wilkes Blackhawks (Millers Creek, NC) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Surry Central Golden Eagles (Dobson, NC), 69-59 in a non-league bout.

With the win, West Wilkes upgrades its record to 13-12 on the season. The Blackhawks travel to North Surry (Mount Airy, NC) to play the Greyhounds in a non-league bout on Friday, February 17. The Greyhounds go into the bout with a record of 24-1. North Surry won 67-48 in their recent non-league bout against East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC)

Next up, the Golden Eagles play the East Surry Cardinals (Pilot Mountain, NC) in a 2A Conference 37 bout, on Friday, February 17. Surry Central will attempt to upgrade on its 18-7 season record.
