West Virginia High School Basketball - Summers County succumbs to Pocahontas County
February 16, 2024: Hinton, WV 25951 The Pocahontas County Warriors topped the host Summers County Bobcats basketball team by a final score of 53-45 in Friday's non-league game.
In their next game, the Warriors face the Tygarts Valley Bulldogs (Mill Creek, WV) in a non-league game, on Wednesday, February 21. Pocahontas County will attempt to move on its 10-11 season record. The Bulldogs enter the game with a 6-12 record after their 66-40 non-league loss to Webster County (Upper Glade, WV).
With the defeat, Summers County moves to 15-6 on the year. The Bobcats host Bluefield (Bluefield, WV) to face the Beavers in a non-league game on Tuesday, February 20. The Beavers enter the game with a record of 3-13. Bluefield lost 59-31 in their recent league game against Princeton (Princeton, WV)

WV Class A #10 MaxPreps ranking Pocahontas County upset Class AA #2 Class AP Ranking Summers County 53-45. Earlier in the season, Summers won by 4 points. This is the 2nd or 3rd win for PCHS over many years of playing. Summers held a record 105 wins in a row several years ago.
